Jeff Sutherland on Scrum and Not-Scrum

Scrum creator Jeff Sutherland guesses there are 120,000 Scrum teams holding standup meetings on any given working day. But how many are really doing Scrum? At QCon London 2006 he talked about "the Nokia test" which he likes to use to distinguish whether teams are doing Agile or only iterative process - or neither! He also revealed the connection between Scrum and the Mars robots.

Agile Estimation – Upfront Estimates (part 1 of 2)

Mike Griffiths, board member of the Agile Alliance and the APLN, has written this two-part series on Agile estimation on his blog Leading Answers.

It does not matter if it will be a traditional project or an agile one, software development projects are unique (we do not repeatedly build the same system) and the evaluation difficulties that make gathering upfront requirements tricky also make scoping and estimating hard too...
