Notifications
With the latest release, notifications have been greatly enhanced to offer even more avenues of communication including:
- user-generated messages between team members
- system-generated alerts from subscriptions
- admin-level notices to all or select users in the system.
User-Generated Messaging
Team members can proactively send each other messages to raise awareness about a new issue, to provide immediate visibility into the status change of a story, task, or test or to point out details to be covered in testing a newly completed feature. Users can also send messages to individuals or to multiple recipients if needed.

Enhanced Subscriptions
Members may choose to receive system-generated notifications for changes to a specific asset. Additionally, they may choose to receive system-generated notifications when someone responds to their discussion post. Finally, subscriptions and filters are available which allow members to receive notification when changes impact their Team.
System-wide Announcements
Project or System Administrators can take advantage of the enhanced messaging capabilities to send a general message either to all members in the system, to select team members, or to a particular team. These announcements are useful for notifying users about application upgrades or scheduled maintenance or to remind team members to enter their effort and To Do.

Incoming Communication
Notification options have also been extended in this release to provide users flexibility in receiving communication. In additional to RSS feeds, team members can choose how to receive user-initiated and system-generated notifications including:
- inside V1: Agile Enterprise, users receive all new messages and notifications in their new My Inbox
- outside V1: Agile Enterprise, users can set up an external email account to which messages and alerts can be sent
These alternatives let each member set their own preferences for what types of notifications they wish to receive and how they wish to receive them.

Threaded Discussions
Enhanced threaded discussions are available on all system assets, facilitating teamwork throughout the software development lifecycle and removing the constraints of time and place in order to have meaningful collaboration. Team members can:
- Kick-off project-level brainstorming discussion
- Hold up-front exchanges about requirements definitions
- Initiate feature-level conversations
- Ask task-level questions to help clarify user stories and defects
- Point out details to be covered in testing a newly completed feature
Regardless of the discussion type, the valuable history of the discussion will then be attached to and saved along with the item being discussed for future reference.
