Closing a Sprint, Release or Project
Once a sprint is completed, Agile teams need to determine what action to take on any uncompleted work. They may:
- move the feature to the backlog and address it in a future sprint
- move the feature to the next sprint
- split the feature, where tasks completed in the current sprint contribute to the team's velocity, and the feature and remaining tasks are moved to the next sprint.
Regardless of which option is selected, once all items have been closed, moved forward, or split, the team can close the sprint and conduct a review for process improvement moving forward.
